This is the vision/revelation.  I was in the midst of a great meeting
hall (a church), and the walls and ceilings were covered with jewels
and ornaments, and the windows were made of colored glass (a
typical cathedral or church).  The hall was full of people, some rich,
some poor, some sick and crippled, mute and blind; but all had
chains on and were hand-cuffed, and no one was free, (a picture of
today’s church – they’re in church but they’re not free).  In front of
the meeting hall was a large platform, with a pulpit on one side
and a large cage on the other, with a huge green serpent in it; and
hanging over where the speaker would stand, was a great sword
suspended by two strings horizontally; and on the platform were
several ministers,  8 or 10, clothed in clerical robes, sitting one
behind the other, one seated just a little above the other.

The assembly looked upon these men and they looked upon the
church.  There was silence for a while, until a thundering voice
sounded from the pulpit, as if it came directly from God, saying,
Who will declare the whole counsel of God? And the first clergyman
arose with a Bible in his hand, and when he did, the old green
serpent uncoiled and stretched out hissing against the man with
sparkling eyes and protruding fangs; and the man of God, falsely
so-called, sank back into his seat and placed his Bible under the
chair.  And when the serpent stretched up his head and touched
the sword, he said to that man, Anyone who obeys the voice of
God, I will kill with this sword.  And for a little while, there was
silence again.

And then the Voice sounded from the pulpit again, Who will declare
the whole counsel of God?  And then the second man in clerical
robes arose as if he would step forward, and again the serpent
uncoiled against him, and he tumbled back with fear and sat down
and placed his Bible under his chair (hiding the Word). The serpent
again touched the sword, and with the same remark said,  I will kill
you, if you obey the voice of God.

And for the third time the Voice from the pulpit thundered, and a
third man arose and sat down like the two before him.  And again
and again the Voice sounded until each of the clergyman had had
an opportunity to resist the serpent, but fear overcame them all,
like the first three had been overcome.  And the serpent smiled
with his evil smile.  And then the Voice sounded again from the
pulpit saying,  Oh if there were a man, Oh if there were a man; Oh
if there were a man who would declare the whole counsel of God,
that these chained men might be set free!  Is there not one man?

Then a man of little stature (meaning he was nothing in the sight
of the world), ascended the platform and stood under the sword,
and he lifted up his eyes toward heaven and said,  Into Thy hands
O God, I committ my spirit.  Then he opened the Bible and read.
He didn’t add anything to It, and he didn’t take anything from It;
he read the Word, and spoke as a man having authority.  And
when he had finished, the old serpent stretched up to the edge of
the sword and cut off one of the strings holding the sword in place,
and the sword swung down and missed him and passed over his
head; because he was a man of “little stature”; and the weight of
the sword made the other string to break, and the sword swung
back and pierced the hearts of those clergymen who were lined up
and nailed them to the wall.  And a great scream of despair sounded
from the pulpit; but an even greater cry of joy sounded from the
assembly, for every man’s chains were loosed and they were set
free! (By the word they were set free).

When this vision had vanished, I saw another vision of the Savior
in a cloud, just above my head.  He spoke saying,  Hear my son
the meaning of these things.  The meeting hall which you saw is
the secularized church, having a form of godliness, but denying
the power thereof.  They are all covered with the jewels of the joys
of this world, and there is no end to their silver and gold.  The
people which you saw, are those for whom I died, but My people
are destroyed for lack of knowledge; they have eyes, but they do
not see; they have ears, but they cannot hear.  They are truly in
bondage and must be set free!

The platform in which you saw, on which the clergymen were sitting;
the platform is the preconceived ideas, having their origins from the
pit of hell.  The pulpit is the throne of God; and the serpent, old
Lucifer himself.  The sword which you saw, is the Word of God;
and the strings on which it was hanging, mean the power of the
Word to give life or the power of the Word to take life.  Life was
given to the man of little stature and life taken from the clergymen
that did not preach My Word!  The clergymen that you saw, are
men (& women) from every church who pretend  to know Me, but
they teach My people things which are not written in the Book of
life; and their pride and their presumption, and their worldly spirit
force them to obey Satan, who is a liar and the father of lies; and
each of the clergymen try and exceed the other in elegance, in
extensive writings, argumentation and the like; but they only
consider the” letter” of the Word, and leave out the “spirit” of the
Word.  And the day will come and now is at hand, when they shall
all perish, just like these.

After having considered this horrible scene, the Lord spoke again
with these words,  Do you remember My words in the prophecy
of Jeremiah chapter 23, as well as My words in the prophecy of
Ezekiel chapter 34?  Jesus said, Read it.  And I opened my Bible
and read,  Woe unto the shepherds that destroy and scatter the
sheep of My pasture, saith the LORD. (Jer.23:1) In the prophets
I have see a horrible thing, they committ adultery and they walk
in falsehood: (a perversion of the Word of God), and strenghthen
the hands of evil doers. (Jer.23:14).

Jesus said,  At the end of days you shall understand this.  Woe
to the shepherds that feed themselves, should not the shepherds
feed the flock!  (Ezek.34:2).  The weak you have not strengthened,
nor have you healed the sick, you’ve not bound up that which was
broken, and neither have you sought that which was lost; but with
harshness and with rigor have you ruled over them.  (Ezek.34:4).
I will destroy the fat and the strong shepherds; and I will feed them
with judgement.  (Ezek34:16).  Then He said to me, That these
false shepherds shall in no wise escape when the sword falls upon
them.  But My sheep must be warned, they must be set free! And
again He said, Do you remember My words in the prophecy of
Jeremiah in the latter part of chapter 25?  Read it!  And I read these
words,  And the slain if the LORD shall be in that day from one end
of the earth, even to the other end of the earth: (Jer.25:33).  Howl
ye shepherds, for the day of your slaughter is come! (Jer.25:34).

Then He said to me, These days shall come quickly, the shepherds
shall howl, yea, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth; but
when the sword has fallen it will be too late forever. The man whom
you saw who was of little stature, is every man and woman who will
humble himself or herself, and be obedient even to the death of the
cross, putting his or her trust in God, and going forward declaring
the whole counsel of God!  Oh, if I could find such a man, can you
tell Me where there is one?  With such a man I could shake heaven
and earth, saith the LORD.

The allegations came to light after Italian newspapers published transcripts of phone calls recorded by police, who had been conducting an unrelated corruption investigation.

Balducci is also a member of an elite group called "Gentlemen of His Holiness," ushers who are called to serve in the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace on major occasions such as when the pope receives heads of state or presides at big events.

"Gentlemen of His Holiness" carried the coffin of the late Pope John Paul at his funeral in 2005.

Apart from being a "Gentleman of His Holiness," Balducci is listed in the Vatican’s directory as a consultant to a Vatican department that deals with missions and had close contacts with the Vatican during planning for events for the year 2000, when millions of pilgrims came to Rome for a special Holy Yea

The tapes appear to record Angelo Balducci, a Gentleman of His Holiness, negotiating with Thomas Chinedu Ehiem, a 29-year-old Nigerian Vatican chorister, about men he wanted brought to him for sexual purposes. Balducci was allegedly paying 2,000 euros ($2,714) for each man he met, according to the Irish Times.

Balducci is recorded describing precise physical details of the men he wanted. The transcripts record that during five months in 2008, Ehiem procured for Balducci at least 10 contacts with, among others, "two black Cuban lads," a former male model from Naples, and a rugby player from Rome.

A report by the Italian Carabinieri on the case said: "In order to organize casual encounters of a sexual nature, he availed himself of the intercession of two individuals who, it is maintained, may form part of an organized network, especially active in [Rome], of exploiters or at least facilitators of male prostitution."

The police probe into corruption resulted in Balducci and 4 others being arrested. Allegations of prostitution were only revealed later, and have resulted in Ehiem’s dismissal from the Vatican choir.

Balducci held a high position within the Vatican and was one of the priests who carried the coffin of Pope John Paul at his 2005 funeral. He has now lost his position as a Gentleman of the Holiness. His trial for corruption is still pending.

God gave me a vision 1 1/2 years ago about one of the biggest names in the Christian world and showed me what this person and many other leaders are doing to the body.  I saw a HUGE "SUBTLE" written in the sky after this person’s name came up.  I was sobbing like I’ve
never sobbed before. It was breaking the heart of Jesus. I kept asking Jesus what was breaking his heart so badly and that’s when this scripture came to mind…"How I wish I could gather you as a mother hen gathers her chicks but you would not listen."I knew that Scripture and cried even harder because I knew that Jesus wanted the church to turn from her deception and follow Him. That told me that Jesus is very much aware that many in His body are being lead astray.  They are deceived and the only one who can open their eyes and get them to repent is Jesus.  It’s a mixture or a malgam of the truth and lies. The sense that I got was that much of the  church had been contaminated. Poisoned and didn’t even know it.  Doctrine of demons had entered, New Age/occult ideas and books had infiltrated the body (many are in the Christian bookstores) and famous pastors were leading thousands down the "Apostate Church " road.  Not the true church of Jesus Christ.  They were leaving out the name of Jesus, the cross, repentance and the blood. It has become a "Social" gospel to many in the church. Just do "good things" and attach the name of God to it… Oh how I pray that people in the church will wake up!! Well, that was my interpretation of this 20 minute sobbing session that I had with Jesus.  Even though I felt like Jesus was extremely sad at how easily His leaders and sheep were lead astray…I still felt like He was going to do some shaking and gather back as many "chicks" as possible from the enemy’s camp. He doesn’t need a huge army… he just needs a few people that will do what he tells them to do and HE will make the needed changes.  Not everyone has fallen into deception.  That’s the good news. Just like Elijah thought he was the only one left and God showed him that there were 7,000 other people that didn’t bow their knee to Baal. That’s the situation with the church today.

THE FULFILLMENT OF PROPHECY?

Many people believe that, before long, an antichrist system will appear. It will be a New World Order, under which national boundaries dissolve, and ethnic groups, ideologies, religions, and economics from around the world will orchestrate a single and dominant sovereignty. The system will supposedly be free of religious and political extremes, and membership will tolerate the philosophical and cultural differences of its constituents. Except for minor nonconformities, war, terrorism, and hunger will be a thing of the past.

According to popular Biblical interpretation, a single personality will surface at the head of this utopian administration. He will appear as a man of distinguished character, but will ultimately become "a king of fierce countenance" (Dan. 8:23).

With imperious decree this Antichrist will facilitate the one-world government, universal religion, and globally monitored socialism. Those who refuse his New World Order will inevitably be imprisoned or destroyed, until at last he exalts himself "above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he, as God, sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God" (2 Thess. 2:4).

The Antichrist’s widespread power will be derived at the expense of individual human liberties. He will force "all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six [666]" (Rev. 13:16-18).

For many years the idea that humans would somehow succumb to little more than branded cattle, and that rugged individualism would thereafter be sacrificed for an anesthetized universal harmony, was repudiated by America’s greatest minds.

Then, in the 1970’s, things began to change. Following a call by Nelson Rockefeller for the creation of a "New World Order," presidential candidate Jimmy Carter campaigned, saying, "We must replace balance of power politics with world order politics."

During the 1980’s, President George Bush continued the one-world dirge, announcing over national television that "a New World Order" had arrived. Following the initial broadcast, President Bush addressed the Congress, saying, “What is at stake is more than one small country [Kuwait], it is a big idea–a new world order, where diverse nations are drawn together in common cause to achieve the universal aspirations of mankind: peace and security, freedom, and the rule of law. Such is a world worthy of our struggle, and worthy of our children’s future!”

Ever since the President’s astonishing newscast, a parade of political and religious leaders have discharged a profusion of rhetoric aimed at implementing the goals of a New World Order.

Developers of biometric implant chips employ similar language in announcing compatible global technologies, and many Americans consider electronically marking humans or implanting a series of digital equations beneath the skin to be the natural progress of these advancing and necessary technologies.

Some people believe implantable microchips will become the Biblical Mark of the Beast. These claim that acts of terrorism such as the ones in New York and Washington, encourage micro chipping humans for identification purposes.

Integral human development, the “commitment” of Hindus and Christians, can be only reached by taking responsibility for one another, which involves the recognition of freedom – of conscience, thought and religion – and the guarantee of political will to work for greater protection of human rights and peaceful coexistence. These concepts are the central focus of the message that the Pontifical Council For Interreligious Dialogue sent to Hindus on the occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights.

Entitled “Hindus and Christians committed to integral human development” the message, signed by the President of the Pontifical Council, Cardinal. Jean-Louis Tauran, and the secretary, Msgr. Pier Luigi Celata, states “integral human development is the advance towards the true good of every individual, community and society, in every single dimension of human life: social, economic, political, intellectual, spiritual and religious. Pope Paul VI described it as “development of the whole man and of all men” (Populorum Progressio, 1967, no.42) “from less human conditions to those which are more human” (Ibid., no.20).

“Such authentic human development – continues the document – can be achieved only by assuming a shared responsibility for one another and by seriously engaging in collaborative action. This springs from our very nature as human beings and our belonging to one human family” “. In the process of integral development, protection of human life and respect for the dignity and fundamental rights of the person, are a responsibility of everyone, both individually and collectively.”

“Respect for others therefore implies the recognition of their freedom: freedom of conscience, thought and religion. When persons feel respected in their primary choice as religious beings, only then are they able to encounter others and cooperate for the progress of humanity. The Antichrist Will Have The Support Of The False Prophet And Organized Religion

The Antichrist is a leopard beast with ten horns and seven heads.

Revelation 13:1-2 (NIV) And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 2 The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion.

The Antichrist will be a governmental leader, and will ultimately set up a One World Government.  The ten horns and seven heads, are other kings or countries that will be involved in the empire of the Antichrist. The ten horns and seven heads, are referred to as two separate parts of the whole. The reason that the ten horns and seven heads are always referenced in this manner, is that they will never fully blend into a single unit. The ten horns are Islamic kings or countries allied with the Antichrist. The seven heads will be represented by “Judeo-Christian” kings or countries, allied with the Jewish False Prophet (Pope).

The Antichrist will be accompanied by a LAMB BEAST referenced in Revelation 13:11-18 printed below.  Satan, the serpent, is the most crafty beast of the field (Genesis 3:1).  In historic Satanic craftiness, the LAMB BEAST (False Prophet, Pope) will look like a lamb, but speak like a dragon. He will look like Jesus Christ, but he will speak like the devil. His words will not be vile and profane, or he would not look like Jesus Christ. His logic, theology, and teaching, will be crafty, subtle, deceitful, and damning like the devil.  This False Prophet will lead Judeo-Christian Organized Religion into a coalition with the Antichrist, and will ultimately force the members of Judeo-Christian Organized Religion to worship the Antichrist, and accept the “Mark of the Beast”.

Revelation 13:11-18 (NIV) Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. Revelation 16:13 (NIV) Then I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

Revelation 19:20 (NIV) But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

Revelation 20:10 (NIV) And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

The greatest recognized peace in the history of mankind occurred during “Pax Romano”, or “the Peace of Rome.”  Rome established that peace through essentially a One World Government, with a One World Religion.  Rome recognized that they needed a One World Religion, in order to maintain a One World Government.  Rome worshipped many gods, including the worship of Caesar, as their One World Religion.  World Leadership today recognizes, and has been subtly and aggressively leading the world back toward the One World Government, and the peace that they hope to reestablish through such organizations as the United Nations.

The Antichrist will be presented as a great man of peace.  In the quest for peace, World Leadership will attempt to aid the Antichrist in re-establishing a new One World Government, that will include a One World Religion.  The Antichrist (King of Syria, governmental leader), and False Prophet (Pope, religious leader), will loosely blend Islam, Judaism, and Judeo-Christian Organized Religion into a One World Religion, with the differences in worship being viewed as “denominational differences.”  The Antichrist will sell his Muslim, Arab brothers on the re-establishment of daily sacrifice by the Jews, in the interest of “brotherhood.”  The Antichrist will state that we all look to father Abraham, and worship the same God, but we simply call him different names.  It will appear briefly that peace can come to the Middle East, and make the Antichrist appear to be a miracle worker, or God himself.

The False Prophet (Pope) will state that Jews call Him God, Judeo-Christians call him Jesus Christ, and Muslims call him Allah, but he is the same god.  The Antichrist and False Prophet will lie in stating that God, Jesus Christ, and Allah are the same God. There is a softening now, by the leadership of these three religions, of the religious lines between these religions.

Judeo-Christian Organized Religion is already alleging that a great “sin” of mankind is a failure to accept another person’s religion. Absolute truth in the religious arena is considered narrow minded, ignorant, a form of bigotry, and conducive to hate crimes. This “accept anything” thinking does not parallel the “narrow,” (Matthew 7:14) exact, and precise requirements of God.

John 14:6 (NIV) Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

World Leadership does not care who is God as long as the world has peace. (In all likelihood, most world leaders do not actually believe in the reality of the literal God.)  The Antichrist and False Prophet will lead Judeo-Christian Organized Religion, Judaism, and Islam into a common group will evolve within three and one-half years into a worship of the Antichrist.

The Antichrist will follow the Roman strategy of a One World Religion, and will take the world from the worship of Jesus Christ, God, and Allah to the singular worship of  the Antichrist.

Judeo-Christian Organized Religion will accept the “One World Religion.”

The Roman Catholic Church falsely claims that Peter was their first Pope, and that Jesus directed His church to be built on Peter. What a ridiculous assertion!

Matthew 16:15-18 (NIV) “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”

The Roman Catholic Church IS built on the authority of the Pope and the church leadership.  Even the local churches are named after humans that the Roman Catholic Church has canonized; i.e.  Saint Peter, Saint Mary, Saint Joseph, Saint James, Saint Charles, Saint Elizabeth, etc.   Fortunately, that is not the church that Jesus is building. The “Rock” upon which Jesus stated that He would build His church is the solid foundation that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. The focus is on Jesus, not Peter, or the Pope. The authority figure is Jesus, not the leadership of Judeo-Christian Organized Religion.  The Roman Catholic Church claims that the Pope is in the authority position of Jesus Christ.

The structure that is followed by most of Judeo-Christian Organized Religion, with the Pastor as the primary autocratic authority positioned between God and man, was passed down from the heresy of the Roman Catholic Church; and was patterned after the Levitical Priesthood that was done away with by Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the only authority in His Body, and will not share His authority with anyone.

Matthew 20:25-28 (NIV) Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave-28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for man.”

The rest of Judeo-Christian Organized Religion is following the Roman Catholic Church, in placing their leaders in the authority position that belongs to Jesus Christ. No single person, or group, was to position themselves between the members of the church, and Christ Himself, in an authority position. Jesus is our High Priest, and only authority after the crucifixion. God destroyed the concept of man as a High Priest at the Crucifixion, when He tore the curtain in two from top to bottom:

Matthew 27:51 (NIV) At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split.

Every individual now has the opportunity to go into the Holy of Holies and commune personally with God.  The salvation of your individual soul is personally with God, through your faith in Jesus Christ.

Vatican City is home of the Roman Catholic Church, and the Pope (“Vicar of Christ” – initially self proclaimed by Pope Innocent III 1198-1215, and now proclaimed by the Roman Catholic Church).

In ancient Rome, the head of the state – Caesar, was worshipped as God.  In the Roman Catholic Church, the head of the Church – the Pope – the Vicar of Christ – the substitute for Christ, has taken the place of God.  At the time of ancient Rome, Jesus was crucified, Peter was crucified, most of the disciples were martyred, and the “Born Again” Children of God were fed alive to lions.  Who was in power, and who was being persecuted?  Rome was in power, and the “Born Again” Children of God were being persecuted.  Have you considered the Inquisition?  Who was in power, and who was being persecuted?  The Roman Catholic Church was in power, and the “Born Again” Children of God were being persecuted.

During the Tribulation period, the False Prophet – Pope, will again be leading the Roman Empire in a persecution of the “Born Again” Children of God.

The lineage of the Roman Catholic Pope comes from Caesar, not from Peter or Jesus Christ. (The Pope, standing atop his mountain of little-boy raping, pedophile priests, looks ridiculous in his attempt to claim moral authority. The pedophilia that was so prevalently practiced in the Roman Empire, has continued to be practiced in the Roman Catholic Church.)

After Mid-tribulation when the door of the Gentiles is forever closed, the Gentiles that are doomed and damned will be furious with the “Born Again” Children of God.  The damned will be in the identical position as the devil is, and will act as the devil acts.  When the damned realize that they are damned, they will go ballistic.  The persecution of the “Born Again” Children of God will explode with aggression.  When the damned see or hear of someone who is not damned, the damned will spare no effort or expense to hurt, and slowly, painfully destroy that person if they can.  Those who have dabbled in religion will be more vindictive than those who have not dabbled in religion, because the dabblers will understand more about what they have lost.  Hence those formerly in Organized Religion will lead the persecution, just as those in Organized Religion led in the Crucifixion of Jesus.  It is the persecution of the “Born Again” Children of God that will incite God to wrath.  It is not a pretty picture, but it is coming.

JESUS, YESHUA or YAHSHUA?? -by Dr. Michael L. Brown.

I am continually amazed by how many people write to our ministry and ask us questions like this one, which came in last week: “Some Christians say we have to use the Hebrew name, Yashua.  They say calling on the name of Jesus is calling on Zeus. That Jesus is a disguise name for Satan. What answers do you have for this? Where can we prove the name of Jesus is correct to use in its English translation and pronunciation?”

As bizarre as these questions are, the fact that they keep coming up means that they need to be addressed, so here are some simple responses (for more details, see What Do Jewish People ThinkAbout Jesus, question #38).

The original Hebrew-Aramaic name of Jesus is yeshu‘a, which is short for yehoshu‘a (Joshua), just as Mike is short for Michael. The name yeshu‘a occurs 27 times in the Hebrew Scriptures, primarily referring to the high priest after the Babylonian exile, called both yehoshu‘a (see, e.g., Zechariah 3:3) and, more frequently, yeshu‘a (see, e.g., Ezra 3:2). So, Yeshua’s name was not unusual; in fact, as many as five different men had that name in the Old Testament. And this is how that name came to be “Jesus” in English: Simply stated, this is the etymological history of the name Jesus: Hebrew/Aramaic yeshu‘a became Greek Iesous,
then Latin Iesus, passing into German and then, ultimately, into English, as Jesus.

Why then do some people refer to Jesus as Yahshua? There is absolutely no support for this pronunciation—none at all—and I say this as someone holding a Ph.D. in Semitic languages. My educated guess is that some zealous but linguistically ignorant people thought that Yahweh’s name must have been a more overt part of our Savior’s name, hence YAHshua rather than Yeshua— but again, there is no support of any kind for this theory.

The Hebrew Bible has yeshu‘a; when the Septuagint authors rendered this name in Greek, they rendered it as “iesous” (I­­esous, with no hint of yah at the beginning of the name); and the same can be said of the Peshitta translators when they rendered Yeshua’s name into Syriac (part of the Aramaic language family). All this is consistent and clear: The original form of the name Jesus is yeshu‘a, and there is no such name as yahshu‘a (or, yahushua or the like).

What about the alleged connection between the name Jesus (Greek I­­esous) and Zeus? This is one of the most ridiculous claims that has ever been made, but it has received more circulation in recent years (the Internet is an amazing tool of misinformation), and there are some believers who feel that it is not only preferable to use the original Hebrew/Aramaic name, Yeshua, but that it is wrong to use the name Jesus. Because of this, we will briefly
examine this claim and expose the fallacies that underlie it.

According to the late A. B. Traina in his Holy Name Bible, “The name of the Son, Yahshua, has been substituted by Jesus, Iesus, and Ea-Zeus (Healing Zeus).”

In this one short sentence, two complete myths are stated as fact: First, there is no such name as Yahshua (as we have just explained), and second, there is no connection of any kind between the Greek name I­­esous (or the English name Jesus) and the name Zeus. Absolutely none! You might as well argue that Tiger Woods is the name of a tiger-infested jungle in India as try to connect the name Jesus to the pagan god Zeus. It is that absurd, and it is based on
serious linguistic ignorance.

Here is another, equally absurd statement:

“… according to the ENCYCLOPEDIA BRITANNICA, the name Ieusus (Jesus) is a combination of 2 mythical deities, IEU and SUS (ZEUS, a Greek god).” – (www.wwyd.org).

The response to this statement (which has as much support as the latest Elvis sightings) is quite simple: We know where the name I­­esous came from: the Jewish Septuagint! In other words, this was not some later, pagan corruption of the Savior’s name; rather, it was the natural Greek way of rendering the Hebrew/Aramaic name Yeshua at least two centuries before His birth, and it is the form of the name found in more than 5,000 Greek manuscripts of
the New Testament. This is saying something! The name I­­esous is also found in Greek writings outside the New Testament and dating to that same general time frame.

Although it is claimed that the Encyclopedia Britannica says that “the name Ieusus (Jesus) is a combination of 2 mythical deities, IEU and SUS (ZEUS, a Greek god)” it actually says no such thing. This is a complete fabrication, intentional or not. In short, as one Jewish believer once stated, “Jesus is as much related to Zeus as Moses is to mice.”

Unfortunately, some popular teachers continue to espouse the Jesus-Zeus connection, and many believers follow the pseudo- scholarship in these fringe, “new revelation” teachings. Not only are these teachings and practices filled with error, but they do not profit in the least. So, to every English-speaking believer I say: Do not be ashamed to use the name JESUS! That is the proper way to say his name in English—just as Michael is the correct English way to say the Hebrew name mi-kha-el and Moses is the correct English way to say the Hebrew name mo-sheh.

Pray in Jesus’ name, worship in Jesus’ name, and witness in Jesus’ name. And for those who want to relate to our Messiah’s Jewishness, then refer to him by His original name Yeshua—not Yahshua and not Yahushua—remembering that the power of the name is not in its pronunciation but in the person to whom it refers, our Lord and Redeemer and King.
